Super Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinics for Cats

We Have Good News!
The Neuter Scooter mobile clinic is partnering with Hawaii Cat Foundation and CatFriends to provide truly low cost spay/neuter services for cats on O'ahu.

WHEN and WHERE:
• Date: June 7, 8 and 14, 2008 (Saturday, Sunday and Saturday, respectively)
• Check-in Time: 9:00 a.m.
• Location: Old Tropical Ag Bldg, University of Hawaii (Manoa)
COST and DETAILS:
• Pet Cats are spayed or neutered for $40 each cat (male or female) when registration and payment is done ahead of time at www.neuterscooter.com. The cost increases to $50 if payment is made the day of the clinic (you still need to register ahead of time on-line). A vaccination is included with surgery. An optional microchip is available for an additional $5. Cats will be discharged on the same day of surgery to recover at home.
• Feral cats are neutered and ear notched for $25 each cat and includes required microchip for compliance with city laws (cost does not include vaccination). Cats must be brought in a humane trap and will be evaluated at check-in. PLEASE NOTE: If it is determined that your cat is not a feral cat, you will be charged full price ($50). Please go to www.neuterscooter.com and click on feral cats to see the difference between a stray cat vs. feral cat.
• Microchips will be available for an additional $5 for pet cats. Microchips are OPTIONAL for pet cats (but highly recommended!) and REQUIRED for feral cats (to be in compliance with city laws).

Impressions from the 2008 PetExpo

It is unbelievably busy on this Saturday morning on my way to the 2008 PetExpo to visit my hard-working friends do their magic for Oahu’s cats. It is a beautiful sunny day in downtown Honolulu and hundreds of families, moms, dads, kids and pets, leisurely stroll along the many dog-cat-bunny-turtle-parrot-health care-related booths inside Blaisdell Center. I have a grand time at the booth of Abandoned and Feral Cat Friends and The Hawaii Cat Foundation, chatting with friends, keeping them from work and taking pictures..

Celebrate Mother’s Day with HCF at the PetExpo 2008!

Visit us this weekend (Sat May10/Sun May 11 2008) at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall from 10 am to 4 pm. It is a free event (parking is $4). We will have a booth there with cat toys including Cat Teasers, fresh catnip mice, and pots of freshly grown cat grass. We will also have an assortment of T-shirts with cute kitty designs in adult sizes and whimsical collectables for cat lovers.
